Edîb Harâbî lived between 1853 – 1917. Edîb Harâbî, who was born in Istanbul and died in the same city, spent his life in Istanbul and Rumelia. His real name is Ahmet Edip. He was closely interested in Sufism and Sufi works.

He published his first poem in Saadet Newspaper. All his published and unpublished poems quickly spread among Bektashis. His composed poems have been sung all over Turkey together with saz and word.

He suffered the most from the dervish fathers of Istanbul at that time, who were jealous of him and prevented him from being admitted to the dervish lodge. The works he wrote are not only in Turkey; It has also been sung in Albanian and Greek outside the borders of the country. He is praised especially in convents in Bulgaria.

Edîb Harâbî was a navy clerk. Sometimes she wrote poems under the pseudonym Naciye Bacı. For this reason, he gave rise to the illusion that he was another poet. He wrote poems on subjects such as mysticism and love with syllabic and aruz measures. In addition to these, he produced very successful works in the field of satire.

He published his first poem in Saadet Newspaper. In his orientation towards Sufism; Yunus's sense of love and unity, Nesimi's harshness, Kaygusuz Abdal's satire, Pir Sultan's Courage were influential.
He created a 570-page divan from his own handwriting. He composed his poems with aruz and syllable meter. It is understood from the fact that he was accustomed to these 2 tellers and that he wrote very well. The rhymes he uses are sometimes for the eyes and sometimes for the ears. He is interested in redifs. He showed mastery in choosing the forms of poetry according to his purposes.
