Bombing Rey has been described by French Connection maker Philip D'Antoni as "the last of the Continental Europeans". He gained his greatest fame after 50: "Maybe it's a pity that my success came so late," he told the Los Angeles Times. “It might have been better to be successful when young, like El Cordobés in the bull.
