Environmental Pollution and Climate Change
Environmental pollution is the situation that occurs as a result of polluting the environment with undesirable substances. This situation can harm human health, ecosystem and natural balances. Environmental pollution can result from many different sources, for example, industrial waste, pesticides, air pollution, water pollution, and plastic waste are among the factors that cause environmental pollution.
Main Factors Causing Environmental Pollution:
- Industrial facilities and factories
- Chemical fertilizers and pesticides used in agricultural areas
- Exhaust emissions of vehicles
- Waste storage and disposal facilities
- Plastic and packaging waste
Climate Change
Climate change refers to the increase in average temperature and changes in climate conditions occurring worldwide as a result of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Climate change may increase the frequency and severity of natural disasters such as droughts, floods and forest fires. In addition, it may bring about effects such as rising sea levels and melting glaciers.
Main Factors Causing Climate Change:
- Use of fossil fuels
- Destruction of forests
- Greenhouse gases released from industrial facilities
- Carbon dioxide emissions caused by vehicles
- Greenhouse gas emissions from industrial processes
